Focus on Farmers - Ibrahim Issif

We are three days away from the official start of the First Annual National Palm Done Right Month in September! We will continue to send updates throughout the month with news, retail and brand partner highlights, and more stories from our farmers and agronomists on the ground.

This week we pivot our farmer focus to a country to our east: Ghana. Home to hundreds of sustainable palm oil farms, the Eastern Ghanaian region of Asuom supports small plot farmers who have converted to organic palm production and are able to support their families and economic growth of their communities.

Ghanaian Organic Palm Farmer Ibrahim Issif
Ibrahim is an organic and fair trade certified oil palm farmer who lives in Ghana's Eastern Region and sells his palm fruit to Serendipalm, Dr. Bronner's sister company in Asuom, Ghana. He has seen many improvements since going fair trade and organic: "We learn how to maintain our farms well, how to grow cover crops, how to do pruning, and how to harvest. I have a place to sell my harvest and can afford to send my children to school."
